An Advantage Over Brass One significant advantage of using composite (glass filled polymer) material for our drain valve is that, unlike brass, it doesn't deplete the system anode. It provides the same levels of performance without creating an additional system stress. Composite construction is also very cost-effective, while maintaining the strength necessary for water heater applications, it provides flexibility in system design. The APCOM drain valve is a 3/4" NPT threaded valve that is made of 35% glass filled 6/6 nylon or *Amodel. The drain valve is produced in shank lengths from 7/8" up to 3-1/2". The outlet of the valve has a standard hose bib thread. Custom designed valves are also available. If you have specific requirements, let us know and we'll give you ideas for building a product that's a perfect fit for your company. * Amodel is a registered trademark of BP-Amoco.
