Longer Lasting PEX-lined Pipe Nipples Protecting the inside surface of steel pipe nipples from corrosion has long been a dilemma in the oil field. APCOM's PEX-Shield (cross-linked polyethylene) Pex lined pipe nipples takes corrosion protection to a higher level. Here's the difference--ordinary epoxy coated nipples place a thin, uneven "film" between fluid and the steel inner surface. Nicked and "missed" steel surfaces, and exposed end threads, give corrosion a place to start. APCOM's PEX-Shield PEX lining provides a seamless, gap free seal, to virtually eliminate fluid migration to the steel. PEX, a dielectric material, helps assure connections without corrosion due to electrolysis for longer-lasting parts. Electroplated steel nipples with "Rollover Edge" Pex lining, the best material for handling oil, gas and salt water in well-head connections, tank batteries, and all your oil field applications. We produce PEX-Shieldª pipe nipples in 1" and 2" N.P.T. thread configurations and in lengths ranging from 1 13/16th" to 12". Custom designs for special applications are also available.
